I was lost in a sea of despair
Drowning in waves of anxiety and fear
My soul was broken and my heart was heavy
I had no hope and no reason to live
But then I heard a voice calling my name
A voice of love and mercy and grace
A voice that said: “I died for you
To take away your sin and pain
To give you a new life and a new start
To heal your wounds and fill your heart”
That voice was Jesus, my Savior and Lord
The Son of God who gave His life on the cross
He bore my shame and guilt and sorrow
He rose again on the third day victorious
He conquered death and hell and darkness
He opened the way to heaven’s bliss
Now I belong to Him and He belongs to me
He is my strength and my peace and my joy
He is my light and my hope and my guide
He is with me always, by my side
